A passion for gardening and business were combined in 1949 when Edward and Magdeline Walkonis opened the doors of Dundee Gardens on the Sans Souci Parkway in Hanover Township, Pennsylvania, Based on quality, service, hard work and reputation Dundee Gardens thrived. After their retirement in 1973 the business passed into the able hands of the Walkonis’ daughter Mary and her husband Bill Sheehy.

Under the guidance of the Sheehy’s Dundee Gardens grew in size and stature incorporating collectibles and gifts into the merchandise assortment.

In 1992 Mary Sheehy was the first in the area to began selling quilted hand bags made by two moms from Fort Wayne, Indiana. Who knew that 16 years later over 250 square feet of Dundee Gardens would be designated as a show stopping show room of Vera Bradley merchandise.

With it’s 13 acre nursery, Dundee Gardens initiated a major construction project in 1998 expanding its store interior into a considerable 20,000 square feet of pure shopping pleasure. Centered on unique, imaginative and rare product at reasonable prices the new addition quickly filled with breathtaking home décor.

Ongoing projects continue to enhance the Dundee Gardens “experience” and an unending pursuit of new goods insure delight around every corner. With an eye to the future and its roots in the past Dundee Gardens continues to rely on the attributes of it’s founders to present you with the very best of market offerings.
